Afternoon Doll Tea Being Held June 1
Hearthside House Museum announces that tickets for its annual Afternoon Doll Tea are now on sale for the Sunday, June 1st event. This year's Tea offers a special afternoon of elegance for young girls with their doll as they learn about the history of Felicity, an American Girl Doll character who is a spirited, brave and loyal 10-year-old girl growing up in the 1770s, just as the American colonies were preparing to start the Revolutionary War. The story has special significance with the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation.
Tables are set with linens and lace and set with fresh flowers to make it a special occasion. There will be fancy sandwiches and sweets along with tea or lemonade while guests enjoy a presentation about Felicity and a display of her historical collection of clothing, furnishings and accessories. Guests will receive a keepsake photo, museum tour, raffle, prizes, and shopping.
The fun and informative program is of interest to both girls and moms (and grandmas). Girls ages 6 and older are invited, accompanied by a parent or other relatives (and of course their doll).
Two seatings are offered, at 12:30-2:00pm or 3:00- 4:30 pm. Reservations and ticket purchase at $30 each in advance only prior to May 24th at hearthsidehouse.org.
