Our Mission
The mission of Friends of Hearthside, Inc. is to preserve, protect, promote and interpret the heritage of the Hearthside Homestead (b. 1810) and the Great Road Historic District through living history programs and events.
As a community-based nonprofit organization, Friends of Hearthside places high value on the enhancement and protection of the community’s quality of life; authenticity in the preservation, experience, context and setting of Hearthside; professionalism and integrity, and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of volunteers and preservationists.
The Friends of Hearthside, Inc. is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization formed in 2001 to breathe life back into the town of Lincoln’s historic landmark, Hearthside. It is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, allowing for tax deductible contributions and the ability to apply for grants.

Board of Directors
The volunteer board of directors provides governance and hands-on oversight for the operations of Hearthside and the other sites managed by the organization. An annual meeting of the membership and volunteers is held in March at which members are elected for three-year terms to the board. A copy of the organization’s IRS 990 Tax Form is available upon request.
