A new event appears on the calendar as Hearthside presents a day of tours with a special twist to celebrate Father’s Day weekend. Spend the afternoon and evening treating your dad or favorite guy with the activities being planned, among which is the food feature of Rhode Island’s iconic hot wieners and official state drink, coffee milk. Come tour Hearthside and learn about the families who called this home, with several antiques and items from the collection on display. Visit all the Campus sites to appreciate a variety of history being presented. Stop in at the blacksmith shop to watch the traditional craft of metal being heated and shaped into useful or decorative objects. Step back in time at the Moffett Mill where tools and equipment remain in place just where they were left back in 1900 when Rhode Island’s earliest water-driven machine shop closed its doors. End your day with a live concert at Chase Farm Park featuring food trucks and blues music performed by Cee Cee & The Riders starting at 4 p.m.
