Simon Thornton may have died here in 1873, but Hearthside House keeps his memory alive by presenting 19th century Victorian mourning customs. Experience all of the traditions and customs embraced by Victorians, who viewed the pageantry of death as a necessary part of life, in this extensive exhibit set throughout the house, including embalming display. Fully-guided evening tours given by guides in mourning attire.  Low light conditions. Advance tickets only at scheduled times.
