Through this multi-site program, experience what life might have been like for a young immigrant such This inaugural special multi-site event which features both the one-room schoolhouse and Hearthside offers young girls and their moms a step back in time to what it was like to grow up in this country in 1854.  Different from our other doll events that feature the “finer” aspects enjoyed by wealthier children, this event focuses on  a simpler life in a rural setting.  Through the story of the American Girl Doll character, Kirsten, girls will experience daily life for a young girl at that time who immigrated to America and lived on a farm.  Her daily chores, going to school, and having fun are all presented in a highly-interactive, memorable experience that girls can share with their dolls.
